Let’s be clear. Churchill Refined 12 is the same house as Churchill 20, but for smaller groups. So you get 6 bedrooms to sleep 12, with 4 more guest beds available (charged per person – see Extras) and that’s the only difference. Everything else is the same – the sensational spa hall with its pool, hot tub and sauna, the games room, the movie room, the ginormous open plan living space, the large courtyard garden at the front of the house and the huge balcony at the back.

The setting is a tiny Somerset hamlet; all around is peaceful and unspoilt countryside – fields and hills that seem to roll on endlessly, skies full of birdsong, beautiful sunsets. Wander carefree across the fields to Dowlish Wake, swing by The New Inn for lunch, fill your basket with local goodies at Perry’s Cider. Have a mooch around Ilminster just down the road, with an award-winning butchers, a lively Arts Centre, antiques and a café at No 57.

You’ll find attractions, activities and country pubs within an easy drive; in around 30 minutes you can be on the beach at Lyme Regis - Charmouth, Branscombe and Sidmouth are only a little further.
