At Malherbie Group Stays, we specialise in providing luxurious, high-quality venues for corporate retreats. Set deep in the Somerset countryside, former farm buildings have been sympathetically converted into large group accommodation for every scenario. Traditional charm blends with modern functionality, enabling groups to host the perfect corporate away days tailored to meet your objectives, with a high level of privacy ensured.
Our luxury corporate retreat venues are surrounded by 500 acres of spectacular countryside. We work with tried-and-tested suppliers to bring everything you need, from catering and on-site activities to wellbeing and entertainment.

What we offer at our accommodation
We have two supersized houses available on an exclusive hire basis for your corporate retreat. Beaverbrook 20 and Churchill 20 each sleep up to 30 and have private spa halls with a heated pool, hot tub and sauna. There are games rooms, movie rooms, a huge open plan living space where you can all dine together comfortably, and private outdoor spaces. Inbuilt flexibility means that spaces can be utilised for meetings, presentations and team building.
Our properties are designed to meet the needs of all corporate groups, offering exceptional environments for both work and downtime. Bringing people together in such a relaxed environment boosts well-being and empowers teams to work to their best potential. After hours it’s a great chance to kick back and relax without the pressures of work schedules.
You can book the properties separately for up to 30 people, or together for up to 60.
Capacity and Accommodation at our Venues
Beaverbrook 20 and Churchill 20 both have 10 ensuite bedrooms. Zip and link beds in every room give you flexibility, with a choice of super kings or twins. So for smaller groups of just 10 executives, everyone gets a super king bed and their own bath or shower room.
Larger groups can book both properties together, providing 20 ensuite bedrooms for up to 60 guests.
Kitchens and dining areas are fully equipped to cater for larger groups. Both houses have dining tables that comfortably seat 30. You’ll have all the appliances, crockery, utensils, and space needed to prepare and enjoy meals together, or you can hire one of our highly recommended private chefs.
Wall and ceiling-mounted air-conditioning units provide both heating and cooling for year-round comfort. Individual room controls mean you can set it to suit you.

Starlink Wi-Fi at Beaverbrook 20 and Churchill 20 mean you have the fastest option available for rural areas. Top quality boosters have been installed to ensure optimal connectivity in all rooms.
For presentations and meetings, each property features large pull-down screens and a projector with HDMI connectivity to allow easy connection to laptops and devices.

Accessibility and Travel Connections
Accessibility
Our corporate retreat venues have a big focus on accessibility. There’s level flooring throughout the ground floors, and each property has a bedroom with an ensuite wet room. We can provide toilet frames and shower chairs on request; stairlifts are available, giving easy access to the movie and games rooms. We want everyone to enjoy all the areas of the property comfortably.
Travel Connections
Access to our corporate retreat venues from major routes in the West Country is easy. We are close to the A303, which brings you to Ilminster - our closest town. This is the quickest route from London, with the average journey time around 2 hours 45 minutes. If you are travelling via the M5, you can leave at Taunton (J25), and it's a further 25-minute car journey.
Superfast trains from London Paddington arrive at Taunton station in 1 hour 40 minutes, or from London Waterloo to Crewkerne in around 2.5 hours. From Crewkerne it’s a 20-minute drive to our properties.
Both Bristol and Exeter airports are about an hour’s drive from us.
Dining and Catering options for your Corporate Retreat
Beaverbrook 20 and Churchill 20 are perfect for self-catering corporate breaks, with facilities equipped to cater for up to 30 guests at each house.
We work with local chefs and caterers – see Extras. Many of them come to our properties regularly and are familiar with our kitchens. You are of course welcome to bring your own caterers, or to cook for yourselves.
Booking Options and Pricing
Hiring One Property
A single property is ideal for corporate groups of up to 30 team members. This option provides exclusive use of the property’s facilities, ensuring privacy and focus for your team while keeping costs competitive on a per-person basis.
Smaller teams are equally welcome - many companies book for 10–20 team members and still enjoy the property exclusively, making it perfect for more intimate strategy sessions or leadership retreats.
Hiring Two Properties Together
For larger retreats, hiring both properties increases capacity to up to 60 team members, with access to all facilities across both venues for the duration of your stay.
That said, some corporate groups prefer to book both properties for smaller teams, ensuring every team member has their own bedroom and maximising comfort, personal space, and opportunities for relaxation between sessions.
Pricing Structure
Our pricing is clear and straightforward. Each property is based on 20 team members, with an additional cost per team member for numbers above this the price of which depends on your length of stay.

FAQs for Corporate Retreats
What types of stay do we offer?
We offer flexible stay options designed to suit a variety of group needs. You can choose a full seven-night stay starting on either a Monday or a Friday, a three-night weekend break from Friday to Monday, or a four-night mid-week stay from Monday to Friday.
The mid-week option tends to be our most popular choice for corporate retreats, offering the perfect balance of productivity and relaxation. It is also the most cost-effective stay, providing excellent value without compromising on luxury.
Check-in and Check-out details
Check-in is from 4:00 pm on the day of arrival. If our changeover from the previous guests is completed sooner, we will always do our best to welcome you earlier, although this cannot be confirmed in advance.
Check-out is by 10:00 am on your departure day. You are, of course, welcome to leave earlier if you wish, but we kindly ask that the property is vacated by 10:00 am so our housekeeping team can begin preparing the space for our next guests.
Payment terms for your stay
To secure your booking and reserve your dates, we ask for a 20% deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance is then due three months before your stay.
If you are booking within three months of your arrival date, the full balance will be payable at the time of booking.
We also take a refundable security deposit of £1,000 per property, which is due one week before your stay. This is simply in place to cover any accidental damage or major breakages. The deposit is returned quickly after your departure, and if there is ever a need for a deduction, we will always discuss this with you first.
This is a standard requirement for most large properties and helps us keep everything in excellent condition for all our guests.
Can guests use external Suppliers not listed on your website?
Yes, we’re happy to work with new suppliers and do our best to accommodate guest requests. Some activities may take place on surrounding farmland, but as its part of a working farm, we’ll need to speak with any incoming supplier first to ensure plans align with expectations and current land use.
Does every guest have their own bed?
Yes, every guest will have their own bed. Depending on the size of your group, this may be a king-size or a single bed.
