Step right in to Beaverbrook Refined 12, a holiday house with a difference, where lashings of luxury combine with country character, modern interiors, and all the creature comforts you need to make your stay perfect in every way. This is our ‘smaller offering’ of Beaverbrook 20; all this means is that there are 6 bedrooms rather than 10, so there’s snooze space for 12 and if there’s a few more of you, 4 extra guest beds are available at an extra charge each.
Otherwise, it’s all the same, with fabulous features that are all yours for every minute of your stay – a stunning spa hall with a pool, hot tub and sauna, a brilliantly equipped games room, a movie room, and an enormous open plan living space where gathering together is second nature. Outside there’s a cobbled courtyard at the front, and out back, a walled garden with a year-round BBQ lodge and a play train for the tinies.
So go on into the main house, The Granary Barn. Here’s that huge living/entertaining space – what could well be your dream kitchen at one end, a plush snug at the other, and in between, a hefty dining table that sets the scene for the happiest celebration feasts.
Bedrooms 1 and 2 are off the living space, Bedrooms 3 and 4 are off the kitchen, and Bedrooms 7 and 8 are across the courtyard in The Tie Stalls, which back in the day, was a milking parlour. All have ensuites (see Rooms), Bedrooms 1 and 2, 7 and 8 both have space for an extra guest bed (charged per person), so in fact, there’s room for up to 16 here.
Follow the hallway from the kitchen to the spa hall, and oh, those big wows! Lots of them! What a room this is – centre place is the swimming pool, to one end there’s a ground level hot tub, to the other, a glass fronted sauna.
Upstairs in the Granary Barn are the movie room with modular seating, a pull-down screen and projector, and across the landing, the games room, splendidly equipped with an 8ft US pool table, American air hockey, table tennis and table football, and a big TV.
Fire up the BBQ on the patio just outside the spa hall, at the back of the house. Expect shrieks of delight from the little ones, running about on the all-weather lawn, clambering on the play train. If the sun has forgotten to put his hat on, head for the BBQ lodge, cosy up beneath the twinkly lights, get the steaks sizzling, toast marshmallows. Think all ages, all seasons – with so much fun indoors you really don’t need to worry what the weather’s up to.
