Dog Friendly Holiday Houses in the Somerset Countryside

When you're planning a big family or friend-group get-together, we know that dogs are absolutely part of that picture! Both our properties allow up to three well-behaved dogs (with a small charge per pet), so they can come along to enjoy the beautiful Somerset countryside and get cosy along with you all during cinema evenings and group dinners.

Not only are the properties large enough to keep dogs happy, with plenty of space for movement, but you don’t need to compromise on quality to bring your furry friends along. Often dog-friendly properties mean you have to sacrifice some features or go for second-best, but in this case your group can still enjoy the luxurious spa hall, private swimming pool and entertainment rooms that come with our beautiful holiday homes.

The countryside and outside spaces also offer a wealth of walking opportunities. In fact, some of the best walks start right outside the front door, with a short 20-minute walk to the nearby village of Dowlish Wake crossing through nearby fields and ending with the chance for a drink at the local pub. You can also take extended walks to nearby Chaffcombe and on to Chard Reservoir, or further on to the Dinnington Docks pub.

If you don’t mind a short drive, you can also reach the South West Coast Path at Beer in just 40 minutes, and you then have the dramatic Jurassic Coast at your disposal for some fantastic views and some pretty steep trails to tire everyone out. With fields, woodland, rolling hills and country footpaths nearby, there are plenty of opportunities to get outside together.

One of our properties, Churchill, also has a balcony overlooking a field to the front and there is 28 acres of our land for you to enjoy for games or fetch and walks. Since these acres are working farmland, please do check with us if you want to guarantee that you can use this space for your dogs, as we often have cattle in these fields.

In order to keep things functioning and clean, we have just a few rules for our four-legged visitors. For example, we ask that dogs are kept off furniture and out of bedrooms, so make sure to bring your dog's favourite bed (and crate ideally) for them overnight. As you might imagine we ask that dogs don't enter the spa hall – this keeps the pool, jacuzzi and sauna clean and luxurious for you and future guests!
