Introduction
Beaverbrook 20 offers luxury self-catering accommodation to large groups. 10 ensuite bedrooms sleep 20 guests, with room for 10 more at an extra charge per person. The property has a spa hall with a heated pool, hot tub and sauna, there's a games room, cinema room/living room, play equipment and a BBQ lodge.
Getting Here:
Pre Arrival:
Trains: There is a train station at Taunton, approximately 12 miles away (for trains from London Paddington). There is also a train station at Crewkerne, roughly 8 miles distant (for trains from London Waterloo). Taxis are available from both stations.
Buses: The nearest bus station is at Taunton, approximately 12 miles away. Buses run from Taunton to Chard or Ilminster, which are both within 4 miles. Taxis are readily available from Chard and Ilminster town centres.
Road: You'll find detailed directions by road in the Check In information provided after you've made your booking.
Groceries: Online groceries can be delivered by Tesco, Sainbury's, Asda or Waitrose by pre ordering on line. You can also arrange to have food delivered from Dart Fresh and River Field and Forest by ordering from their websites.
Arrival and Car Parking:
There is a purpose-built tarmac car park with room for about 20 vehicles, and plenty of turning space. This is clearly signposted from the lane. There are double gates to Beaverbrook 20 which allow you to drive to drop off points to unload before parking in the car park.
From the car parking area it is under a minute's walk to the property; a gently rising paved pathway leads to the front courtyard through an access gate 1.5m wide. This is all fully lit during the evening.
The Property:
Beaverbrook 20 comprises two stunningly converted barns, The Granary Barn (the main building) and The Tie Stalls.
All internal doorways are 800mm.
The Granary Barn:
The ground floor of The Granary Barn is level throughout. On this floor is a huge open plan living space with kitchen/dining and snug areas, Bedrooms 1-4, the utility room, and the spa hall. Upstairs is a games room and cinema room/living room.

There is a stairlift to the first floor.
All showers are walk-in with glass screens and overhead drench heads.
There are wall lights and downlights throughout the property.
Kitchen/dining room/snug:
The kitchen is to one end of this commodious room. In the middle is the dining area where two 9 x 1.2m oak tables are pushed together to seat 30 people comfortably. At the other end of the room is a snug area with sofas and chairs and a TV with full Sky package.
Bedrooms 1 to 4:
Bedroom 1 is access friendly and can sleep up to 5 people. The entrance door is 1100mm wide and there is a large walk-in wet room, with shower and bath facilities. A shower chair can be supplied - this must be requested via the Equipment section of your booking. This room has direct access to the front courtyard via double doors and a gently sloping concrete ramp.
Bedroom 2 has an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower.
Bedroom 3 has an ensuite shower room.
Bedroom 4 has an ensuite shower room.
All bathrooms have a comfort height WC and heated towel rails.
Upstairs:
The first floor is accessed via a 1.5m wide commercial staircase and rises to a wide landing with WCs off.
Movie Room/Living Room:
The movie room is to the left of the landing and has a big U-shape seating arrangement and comfortable stools. There is a remote controlled projector with a pull down screen, and a traditional Hamstone fireplace with an inset contemporary electric stove.
Games Room:
The games room is to the right of the landing. It has an 8ft American pool table, a 7ft air hockey table, table tennis and table football. To one end is a sink, dishwasher and fridge. This room also has bean bag style seats and 3 Bluetooth sound systems as well as a TV with a full Sky package and BT Sports.
Spa Hall:
A corridor from the kitchen area leads to the Spa Hall. The door to the hall is self-closing and can be locked with a high-level sliding bolt and lock. The heated pool measures 10 x 5m and has a constant depth of 1.2m; it is heated to a comfortable 30 degrees. Wide corner steps allow for easy access. There is plenty of room around the pool, with anti-slip tiles for safe pedestrian use, and 8 loungers for relaxation. There is a wall mounted shower for use before and after swimming. The sunken hot tub is next to the pool and has a handrail for safe entry and exit; the water is constantly heated to 37 degrees. The hot tub measures 3m wide and can seat up to 10 people.
Both the pool and hot tub have internal LED lighting for evening use. The Spa Hall has emergency lighting that works in the event of a power failure. To one end of the Spa Hall is the glass fronted sauna which measures 2.2m x 2.5m. It can accommodate 8 people at a time on two benches.
Children must be supervised at all times in the spa hall.
The Tie-Stalls - Bedrooms 5-10:
The Tie Stalls is a single storey stone barn with 6 bedrooms (Bedrooms 5-10) that all have ensuite shower rooms. The Tie-Stalls are not suitable for disabled access, as there are two steps to negotiate as you enter the lobbies to either side. These are 100mm and 125mm high.
All paths between the barns are lit during evening hours.
Outside
To the rear of the Granary Barn, accessed via large French doors, there's a second, walled courtyard with a large patio area with garden furniture and a gas BBQ for use from Easter to October. There is also an artificial lawn, a wooden play train, and a Scandinavian style BBQ Lodge, measuring 17 square metres and big enough to seat 30 people.
